Vintage vacation photos are artworks in their own right but when they are replicated in the form of paintings, they’re something else.

Spanish artist Paco Pomet refers to the aesthetics of vintage vacation photos and historical landmarks in his latest series of oil paintings while blending humor and surreal elements. Abnormally elongated tubes and hints of neon green and orange make for a sense of dissatisfaction. With this, Pomet tries to depict a world in the distant future where humans are forced to seek shelter away from radioactive waste.

He recently had his third exhibition with Richard Heller Gallery in Santa Monica, CA. Check out more of his work in his portfolio.
